Minnesota Vikings playoffs outlook heading into week 11

The Minnesota Vikings playoffs dream is alive. Last Sunday they beat the Los Angeles Chargers on the road. This was one of their most complete games of the season and kept their playoff hopes alive.

They currently have a 4-5 record and are 1 game out of a playoff spot. Their record has them in 8th place right below the Panthers who are 5-5. The Vikings beat the Panthers earlier this season. That will come in handy as we inch closer to season end.

Here are the NFC Playoff Rankings

  12. Washington Football Team (3-6)

Do the Vikings have a shot?

Despite not currently being in the top 7, the Vikings have a very good chance at making the playoffs. Their first opportunity is this week. If they beat the Green Bay Packers they could move up to as high as the 6 seed depending on the Saints and Panthers outcomes. They hold the head-to-head tiebreakers over the Panthers and Seahawks. They also have a good NFC Conference record. That will knock out most teams if they end up with the same record.

The schedule for the Vikings isn’t as brutal as it has been either. They play the Packers at home this Sunday. That is followed by games against the 49ers, Lions, Steelers, Bears, Rams, Packers, and Bears one last time.

The 49ers are another team they will want to get the head-to-head tiebreaker over. They currently have the same record and looked great during Monday Night Football against the Cardinals.

If the Vikings do get in they are a team that no one is going to want to get matched up with. They are much better than their record indicates. A clean slate is just what this team needs and is fighting for.

If the Vikings can attack downfield and keep a clean pocket for Kirk Cousins, the potential is endless for this team.
